Storytelling: Brody Theater

Founded over 19 years ago, Brody Theater is Portland’s longest running improv theater and has become a world renowned comedy and storytelling theater company.

On Monday, April 13 at 6:30pm, Brody Theater will be engaging an audience of all ages with a series of improvised vignettes that explore the who, what, when, where, and why. Their stories will have you laughing and thinking all at once. The event will be hosted in the Raleigh Park Elementary auditorium (behind the library).

No registration is required, the event is free, and all ages are welcome.

This storytelling event is part of the annual Art of the Story storytelling festival taking place at libraries and other venues throughout Washington County in April. For further dates, times, and locations, see the online schedule.

Make and Play Games on TableTop Day

West Slope Library is participating in the 3rd annual TableTop Day on Saturday, April 11.

Drop in any time that day to play board games with friends, family, and neighbors.

Join us from 12:30pm to 2:30 for Make & Play, a fun game design workshop for all ages. Participants will be given a brief introduction to game design and a handful of game pieces and then encouraged to create an original game from scratch. Once you have finished, you can share and teach your games, and whatever game components were used to create the game will be yours to keep. Everyone will be able to take home an original game of their own making!

If you catch the gaming bug, you can even check out a game to take home for the week. View the library’s entire game collection on BoardGameGeek, and view the list of games available for check out in the WCCLS catalog.

Participants will also be able to enter a drawing for a board game giveaway.
