Download Free Audiobooks, eBooks, & Videos
When it’s raining buckets, maybe you don’t want to step out for a trip to the library (though you are always welcome!). As an alternative, you can check out audiobooks, eBooks, and videos from the library that have no fines.
They’re all available online from Library2Go, a service offered to you through WCCLS. Here’s what you can do with Library2Go:
- download audiobooks to listen to on your computer, MP3 player, or smartphone
- download eBooks to read on your computer and transfer to a compatible e-reader
- download videos, including many PBS films and documentaries, to watch on your computer
- download audiobooks and eBooks straight to your Android phone, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad using the new Overdrive Media app.
To get started, you’ll need:
- a library card in good standing (up-to-date registration, no fines over $10)
- a good Internet connection
- a PC, Mac, and/or compatible MP3 player, smartphone, tablet, or ereader (see the list of compatible devices)
- Overdrive Media Console (free software to download audiobooks and videos)
- Adobe Digital Editions (free software to download ebooks)
To find downloadable titles, you can search the WCCLS catalog (where you can choose to limit by Library2Go audiobooks, Library2Go videos, or e-Books) or you can search the Library2Go site.
If you need more information, visit the WCCLS FAQs, the Library2Go Help page, or Cedar Mill Library’s helpful E-Reading 101.
