How do I apply for a library card?

Please contact us at 503-846-6416 for information on library card registration or library card renewal while the library is closed.

If you live in Washington County and are the age of 0 and older, you may apply for a free WCCLS library card!  If you live in a neighboring county you may be eligible for some card types as well.  

Which card is best for you?

for full borrowing access, please visit us with your state or government agency-issued photo ID and proof of current mailing address.  Children without photo ID may apply with the photo ID and proof of mailing address of a parent or legal guardian. The patron applying for an account must be present to be issued a library card.

for youth ages 0-17, this card allows for 5 checkouts, 5 holds, and no overdue fines.  Parent or guardian ID is not required. If you want to check out more items, please visit us with the requirements for General card to upgrade your library card!

allows full access to online databases, subscriptions, and digital libraries, including e-books and streaming videos. Apply for an e-access card online!  With this option, you will receive a digital library account number by email instead of a physical library card.*  If you are interested in checking out physical materials from the library, please visit us with the requirements for a General Access card.

My card is missing. How do I get a new card?

Visit or call us at 503-846-6416 if you think your card is lost or stolen.  If you’d like a replacement card, please visit us with your photo ID and we can issue you a new library card. There is no charge for replacement cards.

I received an email to renew my card registration. What do I need to do?

Please call us at 503-846-6416 with your library card number or ID number and we can usually renew your card over the phone.  In some cases, we may need additional information in-person and we will ask you to visit the library at your convenience.
