Quiet Study and Public Computers

Book a Librarian and computer help

West Slope Community Library keeps public PCs and open seating for reading and study. The notes below match how the branch typically operates. Always check Current Services if hours or room rules change after a holiday or software upgrade.

Do I need a reservation for a computer?

Patrons may use an open PC for about an hour. When demand is high, staff may ask you to sign up for the next open slot. Call ahead if you need a guaranteed time for a job application or exam.

When do PCs shut down?

Workstations power down a few minutes before the building closes so staff can finish safely. Plan to save or email files before the end of the day.

How does printing work?

You can send jobs through the county Print from Anywhere tool and pick up paper copies during open hours. Staff can explain per-page fees at the desk.

What about noise and phone calls?

The reading area is meant for low conversation. Step into the lobby for longer calls so neighbors can focus. Group work is better for community rooms when those spaces are open.

Where can I learn about digital books and film?

Read WCCLS digital borrowing at home for Libby, OverDrive, and Kanopy. For one-on-one coaching, use Book a Librarian. The home page lists events, and Friends and giving explains how donors support extra supplies.

Is wireless internet available?

Yes. Bring your laptop or tablet during open hours and ask the desk for the guest network name if signage has changed. Charging outlets sit near several tables, but they are shared, so unplug when your battery is full.
