Covid-19 March 12 update

Hi West Slope Community,

Last night Gov. Brown stated that large events should be canceled statewide immediately. Even though our program attendance numbers never reach the 250 mark it is important for all of us at the West Slope Library to do what we can to help. With our goal of balancing safety and service we have decided to cancel all of the library’s programming through the end of March and continue to evaluate the situation for our programs in April.

We are also going to work on spacing out seating within the library to help folks who accessing our spaces throughout the day to have some distance from each other.

In the last few weeks, we have worked hard to increase our cleaning of frequently touched surfaces in the public spaces and will work to increase that cleaning again.

Here are some excellent ways that you can access your library remotely:

·       Read and listen to books on your mobile devices or computer with Overdrive and Libby. How do I get started with OverDrive?
·       Stream movies from Kanopy. Kanopy Instructions.
·       Go to www.wccls.org or call us at 503-292-6416 and place holds on materials you’re interested in and pick them up when they arrive. You can also try renew items you currently have out.
·       Sign up for reading suggestions to be emailed to you

Here are some helpful resources for you to keep yourself informed:

I will continue to update you as library news develops and changes.

Wishing you all good health,
